What MealBridge collects, why, and what you can do about it.

Not yet reviewed by a lawyer

This describes what MealBridge actually does with your information today, written plainly. It has not been checked by a lawyer and is not a substitute for advice. Tell us if anything here does not match what you see.

1What we collect

Only what a pickup needs to happen. There is no advertising on MealBridge and nothing is sold to anyone.

  • Your name, email address and password. The password is stored by Supabase, hashed — we never see it.
  • Your phone number, when you give one so a donor or recipient can reach you.
  • The pickup address, city and district on a listing you create.
  • Your listings, claims and delivery requests, and the notifications sent about them.
  • A profile photo, if you sign in with Google or upload one.
  • Photos you add to a listing.

2What we use it for

We do not profile you, and we do not use your data to decide what you are shown beyond the district and pickup window you choose yourself.

  • Showing a listing to people nearby, and telling a donor when someone claims it.
  • Letting the two people in a pickup contact each other about it.
  • Sending notifications about your own listings and claims.
  • Looking into a report when something goes wrong with food.

3Who else sees it

Other people using MealBridge see your name, and the city and district of a listing. The full pickup address appears only after someone claims, and only to that person and any volunteer delivering it.

  • Supabase stores the database and runs sign-in.
  • Cloudflare provides the Turnstile security check on sign-in and serves the map.
  • Google, only if you choose to sign in with it.
  • Tawk.to provides the chat on the Help page, and loads only when you click to open it.

4Location

If you allow it, your browser gives the Find food page your coordinates so it can work out how far each pickup is. That calculation happens on your device. The coordinates are not sent to us, not stored, and never shown to anyone else.

If you refuse, the page works from the district you pick instead. Your answer is remembered on your device so you are not asked again.

5How long we keep it

  • Your account and profile, until you ask us to delete them.
  • Listings and claims, so both sides have a record of what was arranged.
  • Notifications, which are cleared periodically once read.

6What you can ask for

Write to us from the address you signed up with and we will do any of these.

  • A copy of what we hold about you.
  • A correction, if something is wrong.
  • Deletion of your account, your listings and your claims.
  • To stop receiving notifications.

7Age

MealBridge is meant for people aged 16 and over. If you believe a younger person has an account, tell us and we will remove it.

8Changes

If this changes, the date at the top changes with it. If the change is significant, we will say so on the site rather than leave you to notice.
